Kayla Copeland
I have worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in an independent pharmacy for over a decade, and I absolutely love what I do. By God’s grace, I began pharmacy school and steadily took on more responsibilities within the pharmacy. I thrive on growing—not just for myself, but to uplift the entire pharmacy profession.
In 2022, a pivotal change took place: the right to file MAC appeals for underpaid prescription claims became law. It was a brand-new concept—full of potential but incredibly tedious to navigate. Over the years, I’ve helped others here and there succeed in using the TCA Title 56 appeal process.
With the recent momentum in PBM reform, I knew it was time to stretch my knowledge beyond my own store. That’s how M.O.M. was born. Inspired by the idea that "Moms always have the best advice," M.O.M. is here to guide and empower pharmacy professionals to advocate for fair reimbursement and navigate the complexities of MAC appeals with confidence.

My Mission
My mission is to promote awareness of the Tennessee MAC appeal process and its potential benefits for pharmacies and the pharmacy profession. I strive to assist pharmacies in understanding the current and updated statutes regulating Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs) and guide them in utilizing the appeal process to secure fair compensation for their services. Additionally, I aim to support pharmacies in incorporating this process into their existing workflows, ensuring an efficient and effective approach tailored to the unique needs of each pharmacy.
